Welcome to the Stew S.I.G. Website
(The home of Stew's Special Interest Group)
I'm speaking at the APCUG Online meeting on Wednesday December 18, 2024 on adding Linux to most Chromebooks.

The StewSIG. aims to keep up with monthly Google Chromebook updates and resent technical news. Two of us recently purchased new Chromebook Plus models and get extra added goodies from Google's monthly upgrades. We try to keep up with Google current support. Others in our group have older hardware that is still usable.
In the past we've reviewed ways to add Linux to ChromeOS. Google has differnet ways to add Linux that gives the opportunity to add thousands of free open source programs. Not all Chromebooks can be converted but this should be investigated before tossing older hardware.
In coming weeks I also plan to test the addition of Fyde, Bliss and Waydroid to add Android support.
Google encourages ChromeFlex to be used on older Windows or Mac computers, especially those with limited memory and older processors. I try to stay current with Flex.
